Menstruation, periods, monthly cycle is the gift that women are born with. Menstruation is a regular discharge of blood and mucosal tissue known as menses from the inner lining of the uterus through the vagina. The first period usually begins between twelve and fifteen years of age, a point in time known as menarche and last till the age of 50 known as menopause. Women across the world are undergoing periods, some know the hygiene practices to be taken care of while some are new to this concept so they are afraid hence are unaware of the precautions and hygiene practices that should be taken care of.
Menstural Hygiene is all about having a clean and healthy periods. A little negligence in menstural hygiene can cause your body grievous harm.
Even today when several menstural hygiene products are available most of the indian women don't use the basic form of menstrual protection available in the market .Instead many use old rags , muds , leaves , or anything they lay their hand on to collect menstural blood these are very inconvenient and causes various types of health risks to women.
Keeping the genital area clean and using safe menstrual hygiene products can reduce the incidents of infection.
There are some ways to have healthy and hygienic menstural days:
🔺️ Change your sanitary napkin in every 4-6 hours
Changing sanitary napkins or tampons in every 4-6 hours will help to be vaginal irritation free.
🔺️ Washing your vagina regularly is extremely important, because the organisms cling to your body after you have removed your sanitary napkin will cause problems and irritation while you are in your periods.
🔺️Don't use soaps or vagina hygiene products.While using vaginal hygiene products everyday is a good idea, using these products during menses can turn things around as they have chemicals in it.
🔺️Disposing off your tampons and sanitary napkins properly is an important step. Wrap them properly in a newspaper before you throw them away, so the bacteria and infections do not spread.
Reasons why it is important to maintain menstural hygiene:

▪minimizing risk of cervical cancer
